    Observation of Bs->Ds(*)+Ds(*)- using e+e- collisions and a determination of the Bs-Bsbar width difference \Delta\Gamma_s

    We have made the first observation of Bs->Ds(*)+Ds(*)- decays using 23.6 fb-1 of data recorded by the Belle experiment running on the Upsilon(5S) resonance. The branching fractions are measured to be B(B^0_s\ra D^+_s D^-_s) = (1.0\,^{+0.4}_{-0.3}\,^{+0.3}_{-0.2})%, B(B^0_s\ra D^{*\pm}_s D^{\mp}_s) = (2.8\,^{+0.8}_{-0.7}\,\pm 0.7)%, and B(B^0_s\ra D^{*+}_s D^{*-}_s) = (3.1\,^{+1.2}_{-1.0}\,\pm 0.8)%; the sum is B(B^0_s\ra D^{(*)+}_s D^{(*)-}_s) = (6.9\,^{+1.5}_{-1.3}\,\pm 1.9)%. Assuming Bs->Ds(*)+Ds(*)- saturates decays to CP-even final states, the branching fraction determines the ratio \Delta\Gamma_s/cos(\phi), where \Delta\Gamma_s is the difference in widths between the two Bs-Bsbar mass eigenstates, and \phi is a CP-violating weak phase. Taking CP violation to be negligibly small, we obtain \Delta\Gamma_s/\Gamma_s = 0.147^{+0.036}_{-0.030}(stat.)^{+0.044}_{-0.042}(syst.), where \Gamma_s is the mean decay width.Comment: 13 pages, 2 figures, 2 tables. v2: text added for clarification, version published in Phys.     Measurement of CP violating asymmetries in B^0 -> K^+K^- K^0_S decays with a time-dependent Dalitz approach

    We report a measurement of CPCP violating asymmetries in B0(B0)K+KKS0B^0(\overline{B}^0) \to K^+ K^- K^0_S decays with a time-dependent Dalitz approach. This analysis is based on a data sample of 657×106657\times 10^6 BBB\overline{B} pairs accumulated at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. As the result of an unbinned maximum likelihood fit to the selected candidates, the mixing-induced and direct CPCP violation parameters, ϕ1eff\phi^{\rm eff}_1 and ACP{\cal A}_{CP} are obtained for B0ϕ(1020)KS0B^0 \to \phi(1020) K^0_S, B0f0(980)KS0B^0 \to f_0(980) K^0_S and other B0K+KKS0B^0 \to K^+ K^- K^0_S decays. We find four solutions that describe the data. There are \{eqnarray*} \phi_1^{\rm eff}(B^0\to \phi(1020) K^0_S) & = & (32.2 \pm 9.0 \pm 2.6 \pm 1.4)^{\circ}; \phi_1^{\rm eff}(B^0\to \phi(1020) K^0_S) & = & (26.2 \pm 8.8 \pm 2.7 \pm 1.2)^{\circ};\\ \phi_1^{\rm eff}(B^0\to \phi(1020) K^0_S) & = & (27.3 \pm 8.6 \pm 2.8 \pm 1.3)^{\circ}\; {\rm and}\\ \phi_1^{\rm eff}(B^0\to \phi(1020) K^0_S) & = & (24.3 \pm 8.0 \pm 2.9 \pm 5.2)^{\circ}.{eqnarray*}\ The values for the CPCP violating phase in B0ϕ(1020)KS0B^0\to \phi(1020) K^0_S are similar but other properties of the Dalitz plot are quite different for the four solutions.     Search for CP violation in the decays D(s)+KS0π+D^+_{(s)} \to K_S^0\pi^+ and D(s)+KS0K+D^+_{(s)} \to K_S^0K^+

    We have searched for CP violation in the charmed meson decays D(s)+KS0π+D^{+}_{(s)}\to K^0_S\pi^+ and D(s)+KS0K+D^{+}_{(s)}\to K^0_S K^+ using 673 fb1^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. No evidence for CP violation is observed. We report the most sensitive CP asymmetry measurements to date for these decays: ACPD+KS0π+=(0.71±0.19±0.20)A_{CP}^{D^+\to K^0_S\pi^+}=(-0.71\pm0.19\pm0.20)%, ACPDs+KS0π+=(+5.45±2.50±0.33)A_{CP}^{D^+_s\to K^0_S\pi^+}=(+5.45\pm2.50\pm0.33)%, ACPD+KS0K+=(0.16±0.58±0.25)A_{CP}^{D^+\to K^0_S K^+}=(-0.16\pm0.58\pm0.25)%, and ACPDs+KS0K+=(+0.12±0.36±0.22)A_{CP}^{D^+_s\to K^0_S K^+}=(+0.12\pm0.36\pm0.22)%, where the first uncertainties are statistical and the second are systematic

    Evidence for direct CP violation in the decay B->D(*)K, D->KsPi+Pi- and measurement of the CKM phase phi3

    We present a new measurement of the unitarity triangle angle phi3 using a Dalitz plot analysis of the KsPi+Pi- decay of the neutral D meson produced in B->D(*)K decays. The method exploits the interference between D0 and D0bar to extract the angle phi3, strong phase delta and the ratio r of suppressed and allowed amplitudes. We apply this method to a 605 fb-1 data sample collected by the Belle experiment. The analysis uses three decays: B->DK, and B->D*K with D*->DPi0 and D*->Dgamma, as well as the corresponding charge-conjugate modes. From a combined maximum likelihood fit to the three modes, we obtain phi3 = 78.4^+10.8_-11.6 +- 3.6 (syst) +- 8.9 (model) degrees. CP conservation in this process is ruled out at the confidence level (1-CL)=5x10^-4, or 3.5 standard deviations.Comment: 10 pages, 5 figures, 4 tables. Replaced by version published in Phys. Rev.

    Search for leptonic decays of D0 mesons

    We search for the flavor-changing neutral current decays D0\to mu+mu- and D0\to e+e-, and for the lepton-flavor violating decays D0\to e\pm mu\mp using 660 fb^-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider. We find no evidence for any of these decays. We obtain significantly improved upper limits on the branching fractions: B(D0\to mu+mu-)<1.4x10-7, B(D0\to e+e-)<7.9x10-8, and B(D0\to e+mu-)+B(D0\to mu+e-)<2.6x10-7 at 90% confidence level.Comment: 6 pages, 3 figure

    Measurement of e+eγχcJe^+e^- \to \gamma\chi_{cJ} via initial state radiation at Belle

    The process e+eγχcJe^+e^- \to \gamma\chi_{cJ} (JJ=1, 2) is studied via initial state radiation using 980 fb1^{-1} of data at and around the Υ(nS)\Upsilon(nS) (nn=1, 2, 3, 4, 5) resonances collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. No significant signal is observed except from ψ(2S)\psi(2S) decays. Upper limits on the cross sections between s=3.80\sqrt{s}=3.80 and 5.56 GeV5.56~{\rm GeV} are determined at the 90% credibility level, which range from few pb to a few tens of pb. We also set upper limits on the decay rate of the vector charmonium [ψ(4040\psi(4040), ψ(4160)\psi(4160), and ψ(4415)\psi(4415)] and charmoniumlike [Y(4260)Y(4260), Y(4360)Y(4360), and Y(4660)Y(4660)] states to γχcJ\gamma\chi_{cJ}.Comment: Accepted by PR

    Study of the BX(3872)(D0Dˉ0)KB\to X(3872)(\to D^{*0}\bar D^0)K decay

    We present a study of BX(3872)KB\to X(3872)K with X(3872) decaying to D0Dˉ0D^{*0}\bar D^0 using a sample of 657 million BBˉB\bar B pairs recorded at the Υ(4S)\Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ee^+e^- collider. Both D0D0γD^{*0}\to D^0\gamma and D0D0π0D^{*0}\to D^0\pi^0 decay modes are used. We find a peak of 50.111.1+14.850.1^{+14.8}_{-11.1} events with a mass of (3872.90.40.5+0.6+0.4)MeV/c2(3872.9^{+0.6 +0.4}_{-0.4 -0.5}){\rm MeV}/c^2, a width of (3.91.41.1+2.8+0.2)MeV/c2(3.9^{+2.8 +0.2}_{-1.4 -1.1}){\rm MeV}/c^2 and a product branching fraction B(BX(3872)K)×B(X(3872)D0Dˉ0)=(0.80±0.20±0.10)×104{\cal B}(B\to X(3872)K)\times{\cal B}(X(3872)\to D^{*0}\bar D^0)=(0.80\pm0.20\pm0.10)\times10^{-4}, where the first errors are statistical and the second ones are systematic. The significance of the signal is 6.4σ6.4\sigma. The difference between the fitted mass and the D0Dˉ0D^{*0}\bar D^0 threshold is calculated to be (1.10.40.3+0.6+0.1)MeV/c2(1.1^{+0.6 +0.1}_{-0.4 -0.3}){\rm MeV}/c^2. We also obtain an upper limit on the product of branching fractions B(BY(3940)K)×B(Y(3940)D0Dˉ0){\cal B}(B\to Y(3940)K)\times{\cal B}(Y(3940)\to D^{*0}\bar D^0) of 0.67×1040.67\times10^{-4} at 90% CL.Comment: 7 pages, 3 figures, BELLE-CONF-0832 contributed to ICHEP 2008, revised and submitted to Phys.     Measurement of Inclusive Radiative B-meson Decays with a Photon Energy Threshold of 1.7 GeV

    Using 605/fb of data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance we present a measurement of the inclusive radiative B-meson decay channel, B to X_s gamma. For the lower photon energy thresholds of 1.7, 1.8, 1.9 and 2.0GeV, as defined in the rest frame of the B-meson, we measure the partial branching fraction and the mean and variance of the photon energy spectrum. At the 1.7GeV threshold we obtain the partial branching fraction BF(B to X_s gamma) = (3.45 +/- 0.15 +/- 0.40) x 10^-4, where the errors are statistical and systematic.Comment: 9 pages, 3 figures, 2 table
